I Can’t Be Sworn-In As Acting Governor Because My Boss Is Still Alive – Taraba Deputy Governor

Share it Please

The Taraba state deputy governor, Alhaji Garba Umar, yesterday, reaffirmed his position as deputy governor as he had  not been sworn-in as  acting governor.
This position was made known by Umar at Government House,  Jalingo while fielding questions from journalists. He also confirmed that injured governor Suntai was responding to treatment.
When asked if he has assumed office as governor in acting capacity pending when the substantive governor will be fit to discharge his responsibilities, he responded meekly, “I remain  the deputy governor of Taraba State. I  am  not acting. I can’t be sworn-in as acting governor  because my boss is still alive.”
The deputy governor also emphatically denied news reports that he was attacked by thugs on the evening his boss was involved in the crash.
