If na you pick bag wey contain 18 million naira with some Identity card, u go return am? The story wey I dey hear dey show say this guy return am oo.
Honesty is a great virtue that
should be emulated at all cost. The recent turnaround of the lives of Mr. Imeh
Usah and family would attest to this witty statement.
Imeh, a taxi driver, at the Nnamdi
Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja was yesterday awarded a plaque of
N2.5million for his honesty,as he emerged the winner of the Securities
and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) maiden Integrity Award.
The obviously overjoyed driver, accompanied by his wife
Mercy was hosted by capital market community for his rare honesty which he
portrayed by returning N18 million forgotten in his taxi cab in 2007 by a
customer.
Four different groups in Nigeria had
earlier acknowledged and commended Usuah who was also a former workshop foreman
with Julius Berger Plc.
Ms Arunma Oteh, the Director- General
of SEC said that the award and money given to Usuah was the commission’s
contributions toward the promotion, recognition and reward for
integrity.
Still in full of admiration of Usuah’s
uncommon attitude, Oteh said, “His exemplary act of honesty and integrity had
sprinkled a burst of refreshing dew upon the national consciousness. The
integrity award is
a careful response to a critical need of the Nigerian society, as it is through it that trust is built and sustained.”

Responding to the accolades been
showered on him, Usuah, a native of of Ubokudom in Akwa Ibom, expressed his
vote of thanks to the commission for the gesture while devoting his award to the
“unsung honest and committed Nigerians across the country.”
